His name is Frank. He is in a middle twenty.  He became a Christian last year and wanted to talk to people about Jesus, but he didn’t know where to start, what to say, and when to stop. So, he struggled and was uncomfortable for evangelism work. Whenever his pastor called for evangelism events, he’d missed those meetings because of the fear.  From the 15th to 18th December 2011, Frank and his church members were trained on Roman Road Gospel Presentation and went out to meet people on streets and door to door. Frank followed a leader on the first day, and little by little, he got excited about the evangelism. From the second day, he was the leader of a team, and brought 48 people to the Lord. Please pray that Frank and other trainees will continue in Broad Seed Sawing Evangelism, let people hear clear Gospel, and for the people who responded to the Gospel and received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We need more Franks!

Daniel shared the Good News to some young people of Mufulila.

We had asked you to pray for these five things in November:

1) Visit a few bush churches before roads get really bad. Please pray for safe travel, and that we will be able to encourage the small and weak churches through these visits.

2) Annual General Meeting of Copperbelt Association.

3) Bible Studies

4) Thanksgiving and prayer meeting in Lusaka.

5) Daniel’s preaching for graduation service of Lusaka Baptist Seminary. Please remember Daniel and other requests in your daily prayer time.

We visited bush churches, the AGM was great, more than ten people asked Jesus into their hearts through these Bible Studies, had wonderful Thanksgiving, and Daniel preached well.   Without your prayers, I don’t think I can say these things!  Thank you!!!

In December, we have Women’s AGM for Copperbelt Association (7th-10th), Christmas Dinner with Korean Missionaries at our home (12th),  Evangelism training and outreach work with Mufulila Central Baptist Church (15th-18th), Bible Studies, and A Day of Prayer with Fasting (22nd) with three churches here in Kitwe.  Please remember us with these dates.  We desire that God works freshly in our lives each day and each moment!

Thank you!

Everything is green here in Zambia. Rain is coming regularly now days, and the weather is very pleasant!

This month, I want to share a testimony of a woman who is a member of Vision church of New Kawama, Kitwe. I heard this testimony on a Sunday, and wanted to share it to encourage you!

***************************************************************

My name is Bana Mapalo. I am a new member of this church. In February 2011, some people from this church came to our home and presented the Gospel to us. That day, I heard the good news about Jesus and received Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord. I came to this church soon after that day. (We had a week of Evangelism with two volunteers from the USA this time).

I went to churches before, but I really wasn’t a Christian. I had a big problem with money. Whenever I see money (it really didn’t matter if it was mine or someone else’s), in my mind I started to plan how to spend that money. I’d use money my husband saved to buy very important things. I’d borrowed money when I can’t find them in my home. I had borrowed so much money, at the pay day we’d have nothing to pay for food after the payment. My husband and I fought so much because of this problem. One time we fled a city because of my borrowing problem. I had to change churches because of this same problem. My life was a mess.

After I received Jesus as my Savior and Lord, I pray to Him and asked His help on this problem. I asked Him to help me to have self-control over money. I cried out to Him because I really didn’t want to live like that.

It’s been ten months that I am with Vision church. Now I can tell you that I have overcome this problem of money with Jesus’ help! I feel so grateful to God for this peace in my heart. I don’t have to hide anymore from someone who I had borrowed money! I don’t have the urge to spend money when I see them in my home! My husband trusts me with money!!! I praise God for His power, and I am so happy that Jesus is in my heart!

(When she finished her testimony, she had tears in her eyes. Isn’t our God good???)

Jesus works!

Sharing Gospel works!

In Him,

Daniel and Grace from Zambia

Prayer Letter (November 2011)

Finally we had rain last week!  It wasn’t the first rain this year, but it was a long waited rain, and officially our rainy season has started.  We love African rain and it feels so good!

In October, we had three big events: the Teachers’ training for Bible Schools (Seminary), Evangelism week with New Kawama (Vision) Church, and Daniel’s Leadership training in South Africa.  I can say that all three were successful!  All the teachers (5) were able to come and trained for the next year.  through the Evangelism week, 171 people came to know Jesus and accepted him as their personal Savior and the Lord.   Daniel’s trip to South Africa was very eventful (I can’t write it all here…because it would bore you totally, but it was a long trip back to Zambia.) and fruitful.  Smile  Thank you for praying for these prayer requests.

In November, 1)we will visit a few bush churches before roads get really bad.  Please pray for safe travel, and that we will be able to encourage the small and weak churches through these visits.  2) there will be Annual General Meeting of Copperbelt Association, 3) a few Bible Studies, 4) thanksgiving and prayer meeting in Lusaka, and 5) Daniel’s preaching for graduation service of Lusaka Baptist Seminary.  Please remember Daniel and other requests in your daily prayer time.

Thank you for remembering us and our Zambian Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

On the 22nd of May, we visited the church and had a wonderful time.  This church is very mission mined, loving, and fun church, and we became friends and family right away.   Daniel led Sunday School and the Evening Service.  I (Grace) shared our missions work in Zambia and challenged the congregation to come to Zambia to share the name of Jesus.  We sang a special song.  We felt that God visited their hearts and spoke to them through our testimony and through the presentation.  We are very excited about the church.  Many members showed a strong desire to come and work with us as volunteers.

We pray and hope that one day many will be able to come and see the Mighty Hands of God in Zambia in the first hand experience.

Aaron's Graduation 163

On May 6, Aaron graduated from California Baptist University with a B.A degree in Graphic Design & Digital Media with honors. We are very proud of Aaron for completing college within the 4 years which required for his degree. We are thankful to God that He gave us the opportunity to celebrate Aaron’s graduation and to be a part of this big milestone in his life.

During the second week of May, we as a family visited San Jose where the rest of Daniel’s families live. We had a great family reunion, as we sat around the table and had a real meaningful time together. Daniel’s father, who is 83 years old, is still strong, his second younger brother is doing a great job as a local Baptist Church pastor, and his younger sister is faithful serving the Lord at her church.

Mr. Chitumwa

Mr. Chitumwa

On Friday Last week, we met Mr. Chitumwa for the first time during our survey in Luansobe market. He is 26 years old. He is a member of a Union Baptist Church. He spoke very good English and he is a Lamba by tribe. He lives in Ndola rural area with his family.
I (Grace) was a bit nervous when we arrived at the market. It was the only market opened on Fridays on the Ndola to Kapiri-Mposhi road. We had a survey work in Solwezi area near some shops, but it was the first time we plan to do the work in the market. I really didn’t know how people would respond to our approach. Daniel parked our vehicle at the end toward market which was actually the entrance of the market where people could see us and come and talked to us if they wanted to. While we walked around to see what’s where and things, we met the market chairman who controls the whole market. When he heard about what we were going to do, he generously allowed us to stay where we had parked the vehicle.
Once Daniel had set up our table and some chairs, he placed some books and tracks on the table. Then people gathered around us to see what we had. And from that moment, we were busy talking to people, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, and even some counseling.
The first person I had a chance to talked to was Mr. Chitumwa. I noticed that he is one of the strong Christians right away. I gave him some study materials for him to take home, and had a chance to get to know him a little better. He was genuinely happy to talk to us and spending time with us. He would go and a little bit later, he would come back with friends, and he did this many times.
Through this survey work, we wanted to find out if there was any place that is in need of our Baptist church. What we found is that there are many strong Baptist churches, even though they are not Fellowship Baptist churches. We now know that we don’t have to be burdened with that area. But from this survey, we met many wonderful people, and one of them is Mr. Chitumwa. Hopefully we will continue to work with him, pray for him, and support him in spiritual growth.
